Care and use

With a little attention these products will last you years. Everything you need to know is on this page — and none of it is complicated.

How to attach the base

1

Wipe

The table or high chair must be clean and dry. The base grips any firm, smooth surface — it won’t grip fabric, deeply grained wood or a wet table.

2

Press

Press in the middle and push the air out to the edges. The silicone does the rest.

3

Check

Lift gently. If it holds, it’s on — and your child can eat alone.

Washing

Do this

  • By hand, with a mild detergent and warm water
  • Take the silicone part off and wash it separately
  • Dry it thoroughly after washing
  • Rub the bamboo with natural oil about once a month

Not this

  • Not in the dishwasher — heat and long soaking shorten the life of bamboo
  • Not in a microwave or a conventional oven
  • Don’t leave them soaking in water
  • Don’t use abrasive sponges or harsh cleaners

Oil once a month

Bamboo is a natural material and loses some moisture over time. A few drops of coconut or other cooking oil on a cloth, quickly over the dry surface — and the wood gets its colour and protection back.

This is the only regular task. It takes under a minute, and it is the difference between a plate that lasts a year and one that lasts years.

If the base won’t grip

In nine cases out of ten the surface is to blame, not the base. Check three things: is the table dry, is it smooth (deeply grained wood, tablecloths and placemats don’t work), and is it clean — a single crumb is enough to let the air in.

If it still won’t hold, write to us. We’ll sort it out.
